Screensavers

Demonstration Windows screensavers. Each Tcl script has been compiled into a Windows EXE (SCR) file. The internal scripts may be extracted using the /ECHO command.

All of these should run in all 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows from Windows NT4/SP6a to Windows 10 and Server 2016 but they are not recommended for ReacOS or WINE due to linkage to API features.

Label Mania - Windows Screensaver A configurable screen saver which draws random "Dymo"(TM)-like stickers all over the screen using your favourite text To install. unzip the ZIP package after virus-scanning and copy labelmania.scr and ticol_win.dll to C:\Windows (NOT to C:\Windows\system32). Bouncy Ball - Windows Screensaver A simple, configurable, bouncing-balls demonstration script, compiled as a Windows screensaver To install. unzip the ZIP package after virus-scanning and copy bouncyb.scr and ticol_win.dll to C:\Windows (NOT to C:\Windows\system32). Polygons - Windows Screensaver A simple, configurable, bouncing-polygons (parallelograms) demonstration script, compiled as a Windows screensaver To install. unzip the ZIP package after virus-scanning and copy polygons.scr and ticol_win.dll to C:\Windows (NOT to C:\Windows\system32). See the accompanying readme.txt file Configuration is saved to \users\<username>\appdata\local\TicolPolygons\TicolPolygons.ini This sceensaver should run in any VGA resolution from 640 x 480 upwards. Requires a reasonably fast processor (i3 or faster). Colour Changer - Windows Screensaver A simple, continuous colour-changing demonstration script, compiled as a Windows screensaver To install. unzip the ZIP package after virus-scanning and copy tcolor.scr and ticol_win.dll to C:\Windows (NOT to C:\Windows\system32). Lorenz Attractor - Windows Screensaver A simple, continuous colour-changing demonstration script, compiled as a Windows screensaver. The lorenz attractor will be randomised to include distortion and colour changes as well as background colour To install. unzip the ZIP package after virus-scanning and copy tslide.scr and ticol_win.dll to C:\Windows (NOT to C:\Windows\system32). Sliding Blocks - Windows Screensaver A simple, continuous colour-changing demonstration script, compiled as a Windows screensaver. None of these screensavers use 'double-buffering' so screen redraws can be subject to 'flicker' depending on the capability of the graphics card. This screensaver in particular can flicker badly on some graphics setups. To install. unzip the ZIP package after virus-scanning and copy tslide.scr and ticol_win.dll to C:\Windows (NOT to C:\Windows\system32). Safety and Security

These simulations are compiled as 32-bit Windows console exe programs and embed the Ticol Tcl script language interpreter. The internal Tcl scripts may be extracted using the /ECHO command-line argument

To run the simulator. Extract the contents to a convenient folder, virus scan and when confirmed safe, run the associated 'exe' file. To exit the simulation, press the ESC key. For help use <exename>.exe /?

Note that Some antivirus programs (e.g. MSAV) may report false-positives.
Always recheck positives using another AV scanner
This is due to the nature of the code which dynamically loads system DLLs etc.
You can obtain a free virus scanner for personal use from Kaspersky, Avast or AVG
All uploads are scanned with a recent copy of Avast and McAfee A/V and contain no intended malicious code
